Sell in Alberta
Before you can sell or serve your products, you and your staff must be certified with ProServe Liquor Staff Training.
There are many ways that you can distribute your products:
- through the AGLC-authorized warehouse, Connect Logistics Services (CLS)
- directly from your manufacturing facility
- through your website
- through approved farmers' markets and Artisan markets and trade shows (if you also have a Class D licence with an appropriate market extension)
For details about what to consider when choosing a distribution strategy, see How to sell.
For details about how liquor is distributed in Alberta, see Warehouse and distribution.
Selling online
You can ship your products in Alberta with:
- a common carrier such as UPS or FedEx
- a delivery service that has a Class D delivery licence
Regardless, you cannot sell liquor to a minor. It is your responsibility to ensure that the person receiving liquor products from an online sale is at least 18 years old.
Selling at markets
If you have a Class D licence with a market endorsement, you can sell your products at the following sites:
- Approved Farmers' markets, as approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry
- Approved Artisan markets and trade shows, as approved by AGLC
A list of approved artisan markets and trade shows can be found below.
Artisan markets and trade shows
Below is a current list of artisan markets and trade shows that are approved by AGLC.
If an artisan market or trade show isn't listed below, the market organizer should email inspections.mailbox@aglc.ca with the market or trade show details. AGLC will determine if the market or trade show meets the criteria to be approved, as listed in Section 3.3.2 of the Liquor Licensee Handbook.

Sell outside of Alberta
You can export your liquor products outside of Alberta and even outside of Canada. Before you do so, you must contact the jurisdiction where you want to sell your product and follow their policies.
If you export your liquor products outside of Alberta, you must record this in your monthly inventory report to AGLC. When preparing your report, you include all liquor products you shipped outside of Alberta under the “Sent out of province” heading.
